FIOFA Academy 2015/16 opening
Deputy Education Minister Mr. Spiro Ristovski today in Ohrid, attended the press conference for the opening of the FIOFA Institute of Film – Film Academy Ohrid and announced twenty complete scholarships for students who will enroll in postgraduate studies in Screenwriting or Creative Producing.
– Starting from this academic year, our biggest tourist center and cradle of the Macedonian tradition and cultural heritage – Ohrid, hosts FIOFA, the Institute of Film – Film Academy Ohrid, which is essentially the culmination of years of collaboration between the Macedonian Government and FAMU , the prestigious Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague.
Deputy Minister Ristovski also noted that this is a unique collaboration of FAMU of its kind with another country. Credit also goes to the members of the international team, composed of representatives of FAMU and Ministry of Education and Science, which contributed that The Institute of Film became reality and part of the Macedonian educational system.
About the terms for the early enrollment for the second cycle studies on FIOFA, Ristovski explained that the process is opened until 4th of October and begins by completing an application form at our website filmacademyohrid.com, which will be followed by interviews with the potential candidates on the 13th and 14th of October. The selection of the prospective students will be performed by esteemed professionals from the institution.
In order to allow the best candidates, regardless of their financial status, to study at this prestigious institute, Ristovski said that the Macedonian Ministry of Education and Science will award 20 scholarships to students which will enroll in one of the programs, adding that the Government and the Ministry will intensively work on that FIOFA became a recognized regional higher education institution, given the great interest in these studies and the potential of the city to attract international students.
